My chapter. This is our legacy.
I found the new NBA advertisement quite captivating. When I searched for it over YouTube, I found out that subscribers all over the world had also kept themselves busy making their own versions. I was thinking of making one for Da Bulls but then an idea popped into my mind. Why don't I make one for the Jaycees? More specifically, for my chapter, JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel who, like the NBA, enjoyed a banner year in 2007. The rest, as they say, is history. Enjoy! JCI Where Amazing Happens.wmv (7.7 MB)
|  | When the members of the USC Junior Jaycees requested for our assistance in conducting a Vanguard Leader's Course for their chapter, we never hesitated. We immediately sprung our Chapter Training Team into action led by our very recent PRIME Graduate and VP for Programs JCI Mem. Jolex Y. Lim, PG and our Charter President, JCI Mem. Cerwin Eviota NG. They were ably assisted by our SG JCI Mem. Marlon Polinar and our PRO JCI Mem. Emi Rose S.R. Parcon. A total of 30 participants coming from USC JJC and their extension, St. Francis Junior Jaycees attended and completed the course program. Owing to the USC-JJC's the start of my JCI career, I always look forward to assisting them any way I can in the capacity of my leadership with JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel. What's more surprising after the activity was I found out that the marker bearing my name as SSC Councilor as the ones responsible for the installation of the first triphones in USC was still intact. | | In preparation for the transition period between the 2007 Administration and the 2008 Administration of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel, we gathered our officers to discuss the direction we will be taking during the final quarter of the year. Discussing projects and seminars we will be undertaking for the benefit of both community and our members. |
| | In partnership with the DOLE VII Office via our Immediate Past Vice President and current Regional Training Director JCI Mem. Matet Calibugan and with the Council of Barangay Kamputhaw, our chapter launched the Worktrepreneurship program for the members of the Gender and Development group of Barangay Kamputhaw. The program aims to empower the residents with the needed opportunities and avenues for them to work on their success as future entrepreneurs. The seminar was conducted by no less than the Area Training Director for Visayas JCI Mem. Maimai Dasmariñas and the latest addition to the team of trainers for our chapter, PRIME GRADUATE and VP Programs JCI Mem. Jolex Lim. Well-attended and graced by the presence of the Vice Mayor of Cebu City himself, the Hon. Michael Rama and one of the newest faces in the Cebu City Council, Hon. Leah Ouano-Japson, the Committee Chairman for Family and Women in Cebu City and the Vice Chairman of the Committee on Labor, Employment Livelihood & Manpower Development & Placement. The snacks for this very successful afternoon activity was provided by McDonald's, love ko 'to. |
| | One of the most memorable events in the life of our very young chapter! We just turned one year old and we're raring to surpass what we were able to achieve during our first year! This also marked the day that I assumed the leadership of the youngest JCI chapter in the Philippines! As always, the fellowship after the ceremonies served as a fitting nightcap to the activities! |
| | To continue the efforts of our chapter in increasing our membership to that of Category 2 status in JCI Philippines, from our Last Quarter STORM recruitment, we now call our Orientation Sessions the Discovery Series. We allow prospective members to address possible needs and training that they wish to undergo and align the such with what JCI has to offer. Our 1st Discovery series saw eight new prospective members and was conducted by our Regional Training Director and Individual Development Commissioner Matet Calibugan. Afterwards, our chapter proceeded to Mango Square Mall to impart our support to the efforts of Tabang Dos. A project initiated by Ms. Angela Calina and JCI Central Visayas to aid those who were ravaged by the recent typhoons Seniang and Reming |
| | Always believing that meetings and fellowship would be a welcome mix to our chapter, our 2nd General Membership Meeting was held at the Handuraw Cafe in Mabolo, Cebu City |
| | Our chapter was given the responsibility by no less than the National Executive Vice President for Visayas, JCI Sen. Van Torrevillas to conduct the first JCI ACHIEVE Course for Visayas here in Cebu to coincide with JCI Mandaue's hosting of the 1st Visayas Area Council Meeting. Afterwards, the delegates were hosted with an after-meeting fellowship party at the Loft. |
| | As always, lending support to our fellow United Cebu JCI Chapters, JCI Cebu-Mactanc Channel attended the Induction and Turnover Ceremonies of JCI Metro Cebu Uptown and the installation of my fellow President, JCI Mem. Christian Paro-an. |
| | We recently had the pleasure of hosting the World President of Junior Chamber International himself, JCI Sen. Scott Greenlee. Scott was very accommodating, in fact very much interested in the status of the movement here in the Philippines, particularly in Cebu. |
| | As pat of our fund-raising activities, our chapter partnered with CJS Productions to bring the Lettermen to Cebu. The concert was successfully held at the Atlantic Ballroom of the Waterfront Lahug Hotel and Casino. |
| | In a continued effort to build up membership to achieve Category 2 status in JCI Philippines, our chapter recently conducted this seminar and had one of our most valued members conduct it. A past President of JCI Cebu Hara, the current Visayas Area Training Director, a Certified National Trainer for the JCI University of Junior Chamber International and a candidate for National Graduate status, JCI Mem. Lorelei 'Maimai' Dasmariñas conducted an efficient, concise and yet very very interesting lecture about the benefits and the opportunities that JCI presents to thirteen new prospective members of JCI Cebu-Mactan Channel. |
